After 1 minute, the MPR-3 press always gives an acoustical signal. This tone indicates that the press is switched on and that the heating element has heated up. The life-time of the heating element is affected as well while heating, even without being used. That’s why we recommend that you only turn the MPR-3 on when actually wanting to use and work with it.
